From the Front Desk of Howell Chiropractic
If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.
Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!
The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
So, check us out here. Poke around. Get to know us. Then, contact us to make an appointment so we can get to know you.
Virtual Consult: Before you visit our office, we offer telephone or video consults.
First Visit (After Virtual Consult): To find out if we can help you, we ask questions and listen.
Second Visit: We’ll report what we found and answer all your questions.
Regular Visit: A typical visit will be much shorter, but just as important!
Your First Visit
We have adapted our systems to save you time and a trip to the office. This new streamlined approach allows you ask your questions up front from the comfort and safety of your home or office.
Once your consultation is scheduled, we will send you a link to the digital paperwork for you to complete prior to your virtual appointment. The paperwork will help you and the doctor efficiently review your case, answer your questions. From there the doctor can determine if we are the best fit for your health care needs. The call will typically take less than 15 minutes and will also cover your anticipated care recommendations and associated costs.
Your Health History
During the consultation, the doctor will go over your past health history and any current concerns. Second we will explain how chiropractic care works and what to expect. We find, the more you know about us and the more we know about you, the more we can help.
Your Initial Exam
You’ll be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way! Upon arrival to our office you will be warmly greeted by the front desk staff. The staff will give you a tour of the office to show you where everything is located and what to expect. After that you will be escorted to the exam room to complete your initial examination as explained during the virtual consultation.
Comprehensive Chiropractic Examination
This is a multi-step component and may vary depending on your needs. The exam is designed to find the specific cause of your current health challenge(s).
The first step will be a computerized exam of the central nervous system. This portion of the exam will give us your COREscore and provides us with a complete evaluation of the tension affecting your spine and the nerves that are inside of it.
After the scan, we will assess how well you move. You will be asked to perform a series of movements to better evaluate how your body is currently functioning.
Sometimes we will need to see an X-ray to obtain additional information and to further evaluate your case. In this case we will set-up a same-day appointment at the local radiology group for you to have the requested studies performed. We do not have an X-ray unit on-site. (this may be ordered during your virtual consultation, allowing you to get them taken on your way to your initial exam).
After gathering all this information, the doctor will have what he needs to confirm your care plan recommendations that were mentioned during the virtual consultation. It is our goal to develop an effective and efficient care plan to address your current health challenges. You can expect to be out of the office in about 30 minutes.
Your Second Visit
We explain everything in advance
On your second visit, you will again be greeted by our friendly staff upon arrival. The staff will check you in for your appointment and then the doctor will review the information gathered during the first visit and answer any questions you may have. We will also confirm your insurance benefits, if applicable, and set-up your preferred payment method.
We will first go over the nervous system scans and show you what areas are under the most amount of stress and explain how it relates to you current health challenges. The scans are very important, as we will frequently refer to them and will re-scan on a very specific schedule to evaluate and document your progress.
We welcome your questions and feedback
We will review any X-rays that were ordered or provided. When necessary, the X-ray exam provides us with another piece of the puzzle and helps you to fully understand your current health challenges. The better understanding you have, the more of an active role you can take in your care. Again, any and all questions will be answered to the best of our ability.
After we have reviewed the findings of your exam and explained to you what they mean, we will go over your specific care plan. Most plans will consist of two separate phases and those will be explained at this time. Also, if any additional studies, referrals or exams are needed at this point, we will address those needs (ie. Nutritional consult, MRI etc.).
Once we have finished the report and answered your questions, we will take you to the adjustment area. This will get you started on your road to recovery and wellness.
This appointment should take less than 30 min and will end with you scheduling your next appointment(s) with the front desk staff.
*If time allows between your initial exam and second office visit, the report of your exam findings and confirmation of your care plan recommendations may also be done virtually through email. The doctor will cover all the details of your exam and finalized the details specific to your care needs. In this case, the second visit will be more Q & A about the virtual Day 2 and an adjustment. This version of Day 2 also allows you to show your spouse and loved ones your exam findings in case they have any questions.
YOUR REGULAR VISITS
On a typical office visit, you will again be greeted by our awesome front desk staff. They will assist you, if needed, in signing in electronically. Then you will be directed to the adjusting area when ready.
Your Appointment Will Only Take A Few Minutes
You will notice the adjustment itself is very specific and will only take a few minutes. The adjusting area is a semi-open concept but if you have any concerns that need to be discussed privately, please let us know and we will be sure to accommodate you.
After the adjustment you will schedule your next appointment. Typically the appointments are scheduled closer together in the beginning as we work to put you back on track to health and wellness.
